Hi my name is Tharin Karunaratne and I am a mobile personal trainer in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
I have been working as a personal trainer since gaining my Bachelor of Exercise Science Degree in 2023 at Deakin University. I have made an immense contribution to build healthy lifestyles and help people achieve their fitness goals. The main driving factor to me undertaking this career pathway is that I wanted to share my love for fitness and help others experience the same positive changes that I made to my lifestyle as well.
My biggest aim is to inspire and support individuals on their respective fitness journeys and helping them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
As your personal trainer, I bring to the table my experience in delivering exercises to clients of all age groups, regardless of their injury status or health conditions, whether in a gym setting or in the comfort of their own homes.
Furthermore, I have done strength and conditioning coaching to athletes as a intern. I gathered invaluable experience in creating sport-specific exercise programs, managing injuries, and conditioning athletes. All these experiences are filled with good memories and valuable lessons that I can share with my clients!
I specialise in weight loss and sport specific training especially for cricket since I have undergone a weight loss body transformation myself and I am a cricketer myself which is a big passion of mine. I have a strong knowledge in constructing exercise programs tailored for young athletes along with injury prevention and management.

My favourite exercise
Kneeling Pallof press, as it is an exercise which targets the core along with engagement of shoulders, hips and glutes which is vital for a cricketer hence my favourite. This exercise challenges strength in multiple planes of motion and overall stability. In addition to that, the Pallof press promotes functional strength and balance which can be incorporated to better performance in daily activities and other exercises.
My favourite piece of equipment
Resistance bands, because of their portability, versatility and effectiveness. Resistance bands can be utilised to target virtually every muscle group and suitable for all fitness levels making them an immense tool for personalised exercise programs. In addition to that, resistance bands provide constant tension throughout exercises ,enhancing muscle activation which is in my best interests especially in my method of coaching.
